Program Information The Basic Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) I & II Program provides didactic and clinical education to individuals who seek to work in a clinical laboratory as a Phlebotomy Technician with California CPT I & II Certification. The Basic program is a 240-hour program which provides 80 hours didactic instruction, a 40 hour in-class practicum, and 120 hours of clinical experience.
Graduates of the State approved Basic program will receive a CPT I Certificate of Completion and will be eligible to sit National certification examinations. The National examination fee is $90.00. Graduates interested in obtaining CPT II certification must submit additional documentation that they have completed 22 arterial punctures(20 adult arterial punctures and 2 Pediatric).
